Board of Directors

Members like you run McCone Electric through a nine member board of directors. Each board member must be willing to invest a tremendous amount of time in the co-op. They meet monthly to review the operations of the co-op. In addition, directors often have to attend meetings away from the cooperative. Attendance at these meetings is important because directors need to be informed so that they are capable of making decisions affecting the co-op.

McCone Electric's directors are elected by the members to three year terms. The terms are staggered, so each year three directors are voted on. Members wishing to run for director must be nominated by petition according to By-law rules.

Any petition for nomination shall be in writing and be signed by not less than five (5) members of the cooperative who reside in the district for which the nomination is made. The cooperative will furnish official petition forms for this purpose.

Members Attending a Board Meeting

The members will be afforded every opportunity to meet with the General Manager and/or the staff. If you feel you would like to meet with the Board of Directors to discuss concerns or problems, you will be given the opportunity. Any cooperative member or other person, including their attorney, may attend a meeting of the Board of Directors providing a request form is completed and returned to the cooperative. Express approval for attendance will thereafter be allowed.
